FINAL REPORT OF 5TH ISTANBUL MOLD FAIR, 5-8 NOVEMBER 2009

The 5th Istanbul Mold Fair was successfully accomplished at Istanbul Expo Center, on 5-8 November 2009.

Opening of the fair was made by Yavuz Özgün, Deputy Chairman of İhlas Holding and Murat Öney, Chairman of BEYSAD (White Goods and Supplier Industrialists Association). Following inauguration speeches, ribbon-cutting ceremony and then the officials talked with exhibitors by touring the stands.

Characterizing as a specialization fair of Turkey in its topic, the 5th Istanbul Mold Fair has become an arena in where 96 exhibitors participated and total 12.457 professionals came together.

Turkey maintains its worldwide development with its quickly increasing population, advantageous geography, and contributions of this advantageous geography to exports. No doubt, one of the sectors, which have been in action, is mold sector in our country. In recent years, positive developments in the main industry, a successful year was enjoyed in automotive and white goods sector and a delight competition in abroad - despite the global economic crisis that experienced in 2008 - were other factors that have affected the Turkish mold sector positively.

Producers, consumers, buyers, applicators, domestic and foreign representatives… Shortly, all members of the sector came together again at the 5th Istanbul Mold Fair. The sector - where a unity of power has been made, as a real trade platform the mold producer and industrialists met, despite the global economic crisis, which has been experienced - has caught the anticipated success.

SUMMARY ABOUT MOLD SECTOR

Making up a basis for many European countries’ development, the mold sector has also continued its development in our country with every passing day.

In the recent years, developments enjoyed in the main industry, increasing export figures, successful years in the automotive and white goods sectors and the enjoyable competition in abroad have activated the Turkish mold sector. Proving its high quality, our country has been at the target position for Europe that switches its high cost mold production to the countries feature low cost.

The state-of-the art technology, machinery park, information accumulation, suitable price policy and geographic advantages enable the mold sector in Turkey has become without borders. The companies, which are active and have increased their goals in the sector, need a proper platform in order to open abroad.

The raising success graphic, desire for making their successes known to the public and wish to have an important position in the international arenas, the expectations of the sector and having capability of Ihlas Fair Organization to answer these expectations; so the Istanbul Mold Fair has been claimed by the sector with a great happiness and although the global economic crisis was experienced, the fair has resulted with a great success.

Following success that was gained at the fair, the mold sector has entered expectation of the 6th Istanbul Mold Fair to be held from 11 to 14th November 2010 and either our company or our participants have started to work for bigger goals.

 

ISTANBUL EXPO CENTER

Hosting the Istanbul Mold Fair in the 5th year at its 9th and 10th halls, Istanbul Expo Center is located in the region of Istanbul Atatürk Airport. Either its infrastructure or transport easiness, technical features the Istanbul Expo Center is the most suitable venue to hold the Istanbul Mold Fair. A total fair area of 12 thousand square meters, foyer and technical opportunities allowed the fair to realize successfully.

The fair area’s closeness to the airport and Metro stop and being located at the intersection of both E-5 and TEM highways prevented to have any trouble for the transportation in terms of both foreign and local visitors.

In order to avoid the transport problem Ihlas Fair Organization’s buses provided advantage for the visitors shuttling between Metro stop and Fair.

 

GENERAL PROMOTION OF THE 5TH ISTANBUL MOLD FAIR

ADDRESS BANK OF FAIR:

Entering an intensive working term for being able to realize the 5th Istanbul Mold Fair successfully, our team did not also face any difficulty to reach information due to being a publisher of the sectorial magazine. Having published monthly by Ihlas Magazine Group, Mold magazine has become the Main Press Sponsor of the fair and since the preparation stage it let every kind of development heard to its readers. In addition to Kalıp magazine as the publication of Ihlas Magazine Group; Yapı Malzeme, Nalbur Teknik, Matbaa Teknik, Dijital Teknik, Medikal Teknik, Boru, Hi-Tech magazines were other publications which have supported the fair.

Our publishing concept which embraces the whole sector with its magazines that have being published to date became our greatest buttress in our fair. Both the customers of our magazine and its readers became the masses who visited firstly our fair.

In addition, this information was tried to be supported by the means of all the public authorities, web sites, sectorial documents and magazines too.

Having achieved its successful in 2007 and 2008 and proved this achievement with the 98 percent satisfaction according to Customer Inquiries in 2009, the visitor data of Istanbul Mold Fair has made up a base of visitor for 2010.

 

MAKING FAIR KNOWN:

Some promotion works of the 5th Istanbul Mold Fair are as follows:

Together with Kalıp magazine which is the main press sponsor of the fair as mentioned above; Yapı Malzeme, Nalbur Teknik, Matbaa Teknik, Dijital Teknik, Medikal Teknik, Boru, Hi-Tech magazines also took place in the side of publications which have supported the fair. Consequently, it was possible to reach all the sector members in Turkey through these magazines.

In addition, notices were published in the most important magazines of the sector, notifications were passed through the related organization to thousands people, related news of the fair were given place in many web pages and the general - local media establishments.

Istanbul Mold Fair where the industry’s heart beats was supported by big establishments. KOSGEB, Beysad, Aliağa Chamber of Commerce, Aliağa Organized Industrial Zone, Iron-Steel Producers Association, Konya Chamber of Industry, Çerkezköy Organized Industrial Zone, Gebze Organized Industrial Zone, Dudullu Organized Industrial Zone, İkitelli Organized Industrial Zone, İMES, Denizli Chamber of Industry and besides these associations and chambers all the organized zones have taken a great role in the promotion of the fair.

Invitation distribution was made in the central sites and regions of the industry.

Advertisement activities took place sufficiently on TGRT HABER TV takes place in the structure of Ihlas Holding, fair advertisement spots in TGRT FM and fair notices in daily Türkiye newspaper.

Visitor marketing was done by visiting the most famous diesinking and industry fairs of the world and campaigns directed to the foreign visitors were held.

In the scope of the fair, by being touched in the civil society organizations and invitations were distributed to high schools and universities which educate on diesinking.

As for fair invitation, total 300,000 invitations were distributed. 250,000 of those were realized by the activities of Ihlas Fair and the rest ones were realized as customer invitations of the participators.

Face to face marketing activities were managed and invitation was sent to participators.

Posters were hanged on the organized industrial zones and various promotion activities were managed such as panel, placard.

Moreover, beside all of these, as before the fair, the inauguration ceremony and after the fair our news and advertisements have taken place successfully on the all national and local TV, Radio, Newspaper and magazines via MEDIA STUDY. With this aim;

GIANTS OF WHITE GOODS AND AUTOMOTIVE SECTORS MET AT THIS PANEL

In the passed years, having succeeded to bring mold producers together with main and supplier industries, Istanbul Mold Fair achieved to enlarge vision of the sector with its brand-new projects which presented this year. The condition of the sectors was evaluated in the panels titled “the White Goods and Diesinking Sector” and “Automotive and Diesinking Sector” which were organized especially directed towards the White Goods and Automotive sectors.

Arçelik Component Production Mr. Metin Bilgili, BHS Mold Department Manager Mr. Hanifi İçtüzer, İzmir Mold Factory Manager Mr. İbrahim Çoban and Mr. Murat Tansu Uslan responsible for Vestel Central Mold Department were present at the panel which was realized by cooperation with BEYSAD entitled “White Goods and Diesinking Sector”.

Man Turkey Production Devices Design and Manufacturing Mold Department Manager Mr. Hüseyin Külekçi, Ford Otosan Tool Mold Directorate Engineering Vice Manager Mr. Tunç Yerli exchanged information at the panel entitled "Automotive and Diesinking Sector" which brought the giants of the automotive sector together. In addition, having colored by the firm seminars our fair ended by presentations of the firms, Ayhan Demir Çelik and Çelik Metal directed towards members of the sector.

Every year realizing various events, this year Ihlas Fair Organization come on the agenda with a different project. On the last day of the fair, Sunday, 8 November 2009, many names who exerted effort for the sector shared their experiences with audiences at the address entitled “Masters Come Together”.
